hearty bean soup

Ingredients
2 cups chopped carrots1 cup chopped onion1 1/2 cup dry great northern beans5 cups water1 1/2 lb ham hock2 garlic cloves - pressed2 teaspoons salt1/2 teaspoon pepper1/8 to 1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce
Directions
in 5 qt slow cooker add all ingredients

cover and cook for 6-7 hours on high untill beans are tender

remove meat and bones- when cool enough to handle cut meat into bits size peices and return to slow cooker, heat through.

makes 8 1 cup servings- I think they are 1 cup size

    I enjoyed this. I don't care for hot pepper sauce so I left that out leaving the soup a little bland. Once I added some garlic salt it was great! - 2/16/09
