Vegetable Beef Barley Soup

Ingredients
2 Tbsp. Olive Oil 1.5 lbs. beef round steak1 medium onion, chopped1/2 green bell pepper, chopped1/2 red bell pepper, chopped3 large carrots, sliced4 stalks celery, sliced3 cans diced tomatoes1 can garbonzo beans4 tsp. beef bouillon dissolved in 4 C. water1/3 C. pearled barley1 tsp. marjoram1 tsp. thyme1/2 tsp. sage2 tsp. worcestershire sauce2 tsp. coarse saltground pepper to taste
Directions
Cube beef and brown with onions and peppers in olive oil. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 2-3 hours.

    Good recipe with herbs! I omitted the bell peppers, the beans, the worcheshire sauce and the salt! Added 3 medium potatoes and another cup of onions...hearty soup! filling! - 8/25/09
