Egg in the Nest...haven't had for a long time. I liked to whip the yolk & egg whites together with a fork, pour some into the hole & some over the top of the bread, then flip over for a more even cooking of the egg. Serve with a bit of sugar free syrup. - 1/22/10

This is classic! My sister loves using bagels (cut in half), and mixes it up using different kinds (flax, onion, poppyseed, etc). It's great & easy! I recommend making the bagel centre a little larger so the egg has more room. - 10/14/09

I love this recipe! Another thing I found out is that you can take the little circles and make mini french toast out of them. I will be posting the recipe a little later. Also with the left over eggs, you can make scrambled eggs! - 3/13/10

I really liked this! Like another poster, I used some of Sara Lee's Delightful bread, and I added a wedge of Laughing Cow Queso Fresco and Chipotle light cheese for a total of 155 calories. - 12/5/10

I have been eating these all my life. I call them "eggs in a frame" which is what I was told by my mother they were called. My husband who lived in the UK till age 5 calls them "eggies in the basket" - 8/30/13

A favorite growing up and still today. Funny how everyone has different names for this recipe - largely depending upon what part of the country you are in. We refer to this recipe as "Sunshine Toast". - 2/2/13

Just made my own version of this! Used 100 calorie sandwich thins and added provolone cheese and hot sauce! Can't believe how fast it was to make! No excuses anymore about skipping breakfast or getting it from a fast food chain. Thanks for posting this - 12/27/12

this is yummy. Not toad in the Hole, though - that is sausages cooked in Yorkshire Pudding batter in the oven. totally different thing!!!!!!! Also yummy but a lot less conducive to weight loss/healthy living! - 8/10/12

I make this but I use RAISIN BREAD, believe it or not, it is a very very good combination! Many raisin breads are higher fiber and made with whole wheat. I cut out the center of the bread with a muffin or cookie cutter so that the middle can be pushed out easier. - 7/26/11

These were my favorite childhood breakfast. So simple, but so fun (esp. for the kids), and really quite yummy. Though my mom used a whole lot of butter in the process, and added cheese to the top. Sometimes a slice of ham, too. - 10/21/09

yum! I never had these growing up that I can remember anyways but it is something I will continue to eat from now on. I added some seasoning to the egg once I cracked it into the center. - 10/12/09
