This souds really delicious? Would you recommend using a sugar substitude (like stevia) in place of the sugar, or is it really important to use pure sugar in order to allow the sauce to thicken?
Also, about how much is one serving? I'm trying to figure out serving sizes for my nutrition plan. Thank - 3/25/09

I do not knowabout stevia. I have used white sugar and it does change the taste a bit. If you did use stevia I would recommend adding a tablespoon of molasses (that is what adds distinct flavor to brown sugar.) serving depends on size of meatballs. 12-15 tbsp size meatballs

I am excited to try this. I always have these ingredients on hand. Sounds Delicious. What do you usually serve with it? Potatoes? - 3/20/09
