Muffin:1.5 c. whole wheat flour1/4 c. splenda2 tsp. baking powder1/2 tsp cinnamon1/4 tsp. salt1/8 tsp nutmeg1 c. apple, pared and shredded1.2 c. milk1/4 c. apple sauce1 egg, beatenTopping:1/3 c. splenda brown sugar blend2 tbsp. whole wheat flour1/2 tsp cinnamon2 tbsp butter1/3 c chopped walnuts
Mix together dry ingredients stir in apple and set aside. Combine milk, apple sauce, egg until blended. Add to dry ingredients; stir until moistened. Divide half of batter into 12 muffin cups. Make topping mix by mixing ingredients together. Sprinkle on muffins reserving 3 tbsps. Cover with remaining batter and sprinkle reserved topping on top. Bake at 400 for 20-25 mins.
