2c vegetables, chopped1.5tbsp tamarind, cooked0.5c toor dal2 red chillis, broken0.5tsp mustard seeds0.5tsp channa dal0.25tsp asafoetida0.5tsp oil1tsp sambar powder2tbsp cilantro, chopped1tsp salt0.5tsp turmeric
Boil vegetables in 1c water. When they are cooked, add the 2tbsp cooked tamarind. Add sambar powder and cooked toor dal, and allow to boil again.
Heat oil. Add mustard seeds and chilli, then the channa dal and the asafoetida. Add to vegetables. Garnish with cilantro if desired.
