Deep Dish Apple Pudding

6-8 Apples Sliced1 Tb. Lemon Juice1/4 cup Water1 cup Sugar (divided)1 tsp. Cinnamon3/4 cup Flour6 Tbs. Butter1/4 tsp. Salt
Pare and core apples, slice thin and place into a deep dish casserole. Mix lemon juice with the water and sprinkle over the apples. Then mix cinnamon with 1/2 cup of sugar and sprinkle over apple. Sift together flour, salt and other 1/2 cup sugar. Cut butter into the flour mixture with two knives till consistency of coarse meal. Sprinkle this mixture over top of apples an pat smooth with back of spoon. Bake in oven 325' till top is well browned.
