Whole Wheat Cheese Scones

Ingredients
2 c. whole wheat flour3 tsp. baking powder1/2 tsp. salt2 tbsp. butter1 egg1 1/4 c. milk1 1/2 c. strong Cheddar cheese, grated
Directions
Mix dry ingredients. Rub in butter. Beat egg and milk together and mix with dry ingredients, using a metal knife (stainless steel). Add the cheese and mix. Fill greased muffin pan compartments 3/4 full and bake at 400 degrees until brown (about 10 minutes). Serve with jam, honey, cheese, or cream cheese.
