300g Ground Beef1 Medium Onion (chopped)1 can Chopped Tomatoes1 can Red Kidney Beans2 Cloves Garlic1/2 Red pepper1/2 cup grated Carrots1/2 cup Lentils1/2 tbsp olive oil2 tsp cumin 2 tsp cayenne pepper2 tsp oregano10 cups water (more or less add as needed)salt and pepper to taste
1) Brown minced beef with onions and garlic.
2) Add crushed tomatoes, carrots, herbs and spices and water to cover.
3) Let cook for at least 2 hours (more is better). Add water as needed.
4) 15-20 minutes before serving add lentils and beans.
Makes approximately 7 cups. 1 cup= 1 serving.
