Ingredients
For the filling:------------------450g minced beef, lean2 x 400g can chopped tomatoes1 lqrge onion1 garlic clove, crushed500ml beef stock1 x 375g packet lasagne sheets For the white sauce:---------------------------300ml semi-skimmed milk25g butter25g plain flour50g cheddar cheese, grated To serve:---------------------------Parsley
Directions
Preheat oven to 200 C / 400 F.

1. Dice the onion.
2. Brown mince and onion in a frying / saute pan.
3. Stir in the stock, tomatoes and garlic.
4. Cover and simmer for about an hour. The sauce should thicken nicely.
5. Grease your oven-proof dish.
6. Make up the white sauce: melt the butter, then stir in the flour and milk. Stir until thickened.
7. Add the grated cheese to the white sauce.
8. Layer the ingredients in your dish. Start with meat, then lasagne, then meat, alternating until all ingredients are used.
9. Top with white sauce.
10. Bake for about 45 minutes.

    This sauce, with the addition of a few bay leaves, makes a wonderful spagbol sauce. You can cut the calories by using plain boiled spaghetti and it is equally delicious and has the additional smug factor! - 5/11/09
