Ingredients
Strawberries, 1lb Chopped 1/4 cup sugar1 cup water1 tsp. of cornstarch mixed with 3 tsp. of cold water.
Directions
Wash, remove stems, and cut up strawberries. Put into saucepan, add strawberries, sugar and water. Bring to a boil. Add the cornstarch and water mixture. Boil until it thickens a little. We like our syrup runny. If you want thicker syrup you can add more sugar. It made 7, 1/2 cup servings.

Delicious, but a little runny for my taste. Then again, I didn't have any cornstarch and that probably would've helped if I'd been able to add it. I also found that I didn't need a half-cup of it; even for a big Belgian waffle 1/4 cup was plenty. Will make this again and try other fruits too. - 6/29/09

This was FABULOUS...quick to make, and with the cornstarch just the right thickness for me. I tried it over low fat ice cream and felt like I was at an ice cream parlor having a major treat! - 6/30/10

A little runny for me so I had to thicken it a little more. But I loved it on top of my whole wheat pancakes this morning! - 4/18/07

Delish! I made this to have with waffles for breakfast this morning. Oh boy, it was yummy! I did add a couple more Tbsps. of cornstarch to make it thicker. I think I will try to freeze some in a couple small Food Saver bags to have later on. - 9/25/19

I only had 1/2 of a pound, so I put 1/2 of every thing. It was easy to do. I love strawberries. - 3/21/11

How do you think it would be if you used brown sugar instead? I wondered if it would be richer, and more maple syrup-like? - 2/8/11

This makes a delicious addition over lowfat icecream or frozen yogurt. We also use it on pancakes, and occasionally on biscuits. - 10/8/10
