Ingredients
Directions
2 cans (15 oz each) garbanzo beans, rinsed & drained2 green onions, minced1/4 c. dry bread crumbs1 t. garlic powder1/2 t. pepper2 T. soy sauce2 T. worcestershire sauce2 T. vegetable oilYOGURT SAUCE:2 c. plain fat-free yogurt1 green onion, minced2 garlic cloves, minced1 T. dill weed
In a food processor, combined all falafel ingredient and process until smooth. If mixture is too moist, add a few more bread crumbs.
Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and heat over med-high heat. Spoon falafel mixture into skillet in approximately 1/3 c. amounts and press gently to form patties. Fry patties until golden brown on both sides.
For sauce ~ combine all ingredients. I like to do this first, and let the flavors combine while I'm preparing the rest.
Makes approx. 15 - 3.5" patties.
I like to serve these in whole wheat pitas wtih tomato, onion, and fresh spinach leaves or lettuce.
Nutritional information is for one patty and approx. 2 T. sauce.
