Tina's Spanish Rice

Ingredients
A pound ground buffalo (or extra lean ground beef)2 cups rice2 15 oz cans recipe cut tomatoes (Delmonte Petite)2 15 oz cans tomato sauce4 cups water1 tsp ground cumin1 tsp Garlic Powder2 tsp Onion PowderDash of saltDash of Black Pepper
Directions
Place meat in a nonstick pan, sprinkle with spices, crumble the meat with a spatula and brown over medium heat.

While the meat is browning, add the tomatoes, tomato sauce and water to a large pot and bring to a boil. When the meat is browned add it to the tomato mixture, after the mixture comes to a boil add the rice, lower the heat and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes until the rice is cooked.

For those not watching their sodium levels garlic salt and onion salt can be used in place of the powders.

My family serves this with Grated Parmesan cheese and bacon bits or bacos (not recommended for those watching their sodium)
