Banana Bread, Whole Wheat w.Chocolate and Walnuts

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour1 tsp baking soda1/2 tsp salt1 stick butter room temperature3/4 cups sugar2 very ripe bananas2 eggs1/2 cup chopped walnuts1/2 cup semit sweet morsels
Directions
In bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt. Put aside.

In large bowl, beat butter and sugar. Mash bananas and add. Beat in eggs. In 3 batches add flour mixture. Do not over mix. Add walnuts and chocolate. Stir. Pour into loaf pan. Bake for 50 -6o minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 15 minutes. Makes 8-9 servings.

P.s. I like to use mini loaf pans. Makes about 3 mini loaves. Bake only for about 30-40 minutes.

    Mmm, really good! I made some substitutions. Didn't have enough banana so added some pumpkin puree. Substituted apple sauce for the butter and 1/4 cup of Splenda for 1/4 cup of the sugar. I also removed 1/4 cup of flour, adding 1/4 cup of cocoa powder to replace it. Very nice and chocolate-y! - 8/3/14

    Fabulous! However I did tweak a couple things, I used applesauce instead of butter and used part splenda brown part white splenda,I used dark choc chips........
