Ingredients
Directions
2 pkg. yeast.1/2 c. warm water.1/3 cup honey.1 Tbsp. sea salt (or salt.)1/4 cup oil.2 1/4 cup warm water.approx. 6 c. whole wheat flour.(I use white whole wheat flour.)2 Bread pans. ( You can also use a baking sheet and make loaves like that in the picture.)
1. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 warm water; let sit 5-10 minues. (Put it in the bowl you'll be using for dough.)
2. Stir in honey, salt, oil, and 2 1/4 cups water.
3. Add 4 cups or so flour and stir until smooth.
4. Add more flour, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing and squeezing vigorously, until dough becomes stiff and leaves the sides of the bowl.
5. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead until dough is elastic.
6. Put in a greased bowl. Cover, and let rice in a warm place until dough doubles (about 1 hour.)
(Dough is ready if 2 finger imprints stay.)
7. Punch down and divide in half.
8. Roll each half into rectangles and put in (on)greased pan.
9. Cover and let rise about 1 hour.
10. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
11. Bake 40-45 minutes. (Depending on your oven- it may only take 30 minutes.)
12. Remove from pans and allow loaves to cool.
The servings all depend on how much your dough rose and how you slice your bread. This bread is thick, so, depending on how much it rose, you should get 6-7 slices a loaf.
