Tammy's Speghetti Sauce

3 TBSP Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil1/4 cup onion1 clove garlic (used california jar of minced garlic)1 tsp brown sugar1.5 tsp sugar1/2 tsp salt3/4 tsp basil3/4 tsp oregano1/4 tsp thyme1/8 tsp pepper1 can (10.5 oz) Stewed Italian tomatoes1 (6oz) can tomato paste1/4 cup water
approx 6 - 1/4 cup servings.
(this is a 1/2 batch)
Put oil in dutch oven and heat over moderatley high eat. add onion & garlic and saute until golden.
add sugar, brown sugar, salt, basil, oregano, thyme, pepper, tomatoes, tomato paste & water.
bring to boil over high heat; reduce to low and cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
you can then add the meatballs and simmer another 10-60 minutes. the longer the better. but i am impatient so I usually go for 10 minutes.
