Old-Style Chili - Slow Cooker

Ingredients
1 cup Chopped Onion1 cup Diced Carrot1 cup Green Pepper2 lbs Extra Lean Ground Beef2 Cans diced tomatoes with juice (14oz)1 can pork and beans19 oz Can of black beans, rinsed & drained14 oz Can of red kidney beans, rinsed & drained1 5 1/2 oz can tomato paste1 - 2 tbsp Chili powder1 tsp granulated sugar1 tsp Garlic powder1/4 tsp salt
Directions
Layer first 4 ingredients, in order give, in 4 to 5 quart slow cooker

Combine next 10 ingredients in large bowl. Pour over beef. Do not stir. Cover. Cook on Low for 8 - 10 hours or on High 4 - 5 hours.

Garnish individual servings with sour cream.

    My kids and I loved this recipe, but my hubby did not. Bear in mind he is not a fan of anything 'diet.' I modified it a little bit, using a red bell pepper for the green and exchanging diced tomatoes for the pork & beans. Good stuff! - 9/24/07
