Chewy Red Raspberry Bars

1/2 cup room temperature butter or margarine 1/2 cup packed brown sugar1 teaspoon vanilla1 teaspoon baking powder1 cup flour1 cup rolled oats1/2 cup red raspberry preserves
Makes 16 servings (2 in squares)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 8 x 8 baking dish with cooking or baking spray.
Cream together butter and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy, add vanilla extract.
Combine flour, oats and baking powder, add to butter mixture. Combine until crumbly. Press crust mixture into bottom of 8 x8 pan, reserving about 1/4 cup for topping. Spread crust with preserves (warming slightly in microwave may help if they've been refrigerated). Crumble reserved topping over preserves. Bake 35-40 minutes until topping is golden brown and crust is set. Let cool and cut into 2 in squares.
