Ingredients
1/4 c (2 oz) 2% milk1/4 c (2 oz) nonfat, sugar free yogurt (I use Best Choice Boston Cream Pie)1/4 c water1/2 c frozen mixed fruit1 Tbl dry old fashioned oatmeal
Directions
Makes 1 serving, approximately 1.5 cups

Using a 2 cup measuring glass, add milk and yogurt, then add frozen fruit until liquid reaches the 1 cup line. (This measures 1/2 c fruit by displacement.) Add oatmeal and water. Drink can be prepared without the water if you like it a little thicker; I use the water to make it blend easier since I use a stick blender.

Blend & enjoy!

I used fresh blueberries and strawberries, ice instead of water, and vanilla yogurt instead of Boston Cream Pie and the smoothie was really good. The oatmeal gave it a richer taste. - 8/4/09

I live in the midwest and Best Choice is a brand found in many of our local groceries. It is a part of the Associated Wholesale Grocers line, based in Kansas City. You can go to http://www.awgbrands.com/ to find where you can buy Best Choice or other AWG products near your zip code.

I added a half of a scoop of soy protein powder to it, and it was good...well, good as it gets with protein powder in it (grainy texture and all). - 11/13/09

I would highly recommend that everyone consider NOT using sugar-free yogurt as that means you are ingesting artificial sweeteners which have been proven to be cancer-causing (among other diseases). Research the effects of artificial sweeteners, you'll be surprised at how bad they are! - 1/18/10

I used fresh strawberries and Weight Watchers Boston Cream pie yogurt. Also used ice instead of water AND added a little stevia because I like it sweet. :)

VERY good. Thanks for the recipe. This will be a staple in the house. - 1/15/10

THis was amazing! I used canned pineapple in juice and measured the juice instead of milk and excluded the water. It was sweet and satisfying but yet very healthy. I love the oatmeal in it, it gives it a great taste and texture. I will try various combos! Thanks so much - 1/15/10

This makes a great smoothie. Just a caution--I used Irish oatmeal for the oatmeal, and not even my fairly powerful blender could mush it. So mine was a little gritty...but that's not the recipe's fault. I would use flat cut oats in the future. - 1/15/10

I used vanilla yogurt and fresh strawberries and blueberries instead of frozen. A little too tart for me. It might have been the strawberries. Can't taste them before you put them in :) I might add a tsp of sugar for the next time. Adding oatmeal is a great idea. - 6/11/09

I use flax (ground) instead, less chewy and more nutty flavor.
also a slice or two of apple and banana as fresh fruit with the crushed ice gives it a more creamy texture. - 1/16/10
