Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef (I use lean ground turkey)One 29-oz can tomato sauceOne 29-oz can kidney beans (with liquid)One 29-oz can pinto beans (with liquid)1 cup diced onion (1 medium onion)1/2 cup diced green chile (2 chiles)1/4 cup diced celery3 medium tomatoes, chopped2 tsp cumin powder3 tbsp chili powder1.5 tsp black pepper2 tsp salt2 cups water
Directions
I usually make this in the roaster around noon to have for dinner.

1. Brown the ground beef or ground turkey in a skillet over medium heat; drain off fat.

2. Using a fork, crumble the cooked beef into pea-size pieces.

3. In a large pot (or roaster) combine the beef plus all the remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer over low heat. Cook, stirring every 15 minutes, for 2-3 hours.

Makes about 12 servings.

    I made this and left the beans out to serve over hot dogs. I too used ground turkey and it was a hit! Wanted it REAL hot so I also added 1/2 cup Asian ground chii paste! :-O. It was on fire!! - 6/14/09
