Slow Cooked Sausage and Beans

1 tb olive oil1 medium onion, chopped2 cloves garlic, chopped1 medium red pepper, sliced12 oz sausage1 15-oz can white beans1 15-oz can red kidney beans1 15-oz can tomatoes with juice2 oz red wineSalt and pepper to taste
Heat oil in skillet. Add onion, garlic, and pepper and saute until translucent. Add to slow cooker. Heat skillet again and cook sausage, adding a bit of water, until fully cooked. Add sausage, beans, tomatoes, and wine to the slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours, removing the lid toward the end so the stew can thicken. Add salt and pepper to taste and serve.
