2 quarts water, plus extra for rinsing1 lb (2 cups) dried green split peas1 teaspoon Better Than Boullion ham base
Rise beans well in a sieve under running water and pick any pebbles out. Put in a soup pot with 2 quarts of water and 1 teaspoon or ham base. Simmer for 30 minutes, or until desired thickness. For a creamy texture, puree with hand blender.
