We really liked this recipe, thought the cinnamon was a great accent, I did double most of the spice amounts as we like things loaded with flavour. thanks for the recipe! May need to thin it down a bit to reheat. Very filling. - 1/20/09

DELICIOUS!!!! this was my first experience cooking with lentils and I am not disappointed! I also doubled the seasoning. The chicken was tender and delicious and I will definitely make this recipe again! - 2/16/12

Now that it's warmer out, we like to grill up a bunch chicken breasts on a Sunday afternoon, cool and chop them, and freeze them for anything we want throughout the week. I made this recipe and added the already grilled chicken just before serving. YUM! - 4/14/14

I Loved this! Using by some of the tips below I doubled the spices and I added an onion because I always add an onion. It was very tasty! - 3/14/14

Delicious! I really enjoyed this, and I like that it's so simple. I added about a half cup of raisins during the last half hour of cooking to gave it a little something extra. It adds some sugar, but some fibre too, so it's still pretty healthy. - 2/3/11

Just finished putting this in the crock pot. Used curry instead of tumeric. Made home made chicken stock using chicken back. Added onions. And will add 2 cups of cabbage to bump up the veggies. Smells delish already! - 10/8/13

I thought that this was pretty good. I don't know that my husband liked it as much as I did. I cooked it for about 12 hours and the lentils were still really firm and the carrots were too. But it was not bad. - 6/10/13

Tasted great. It was my first time cooking lentils and the colour was a little offputting - sludge grey/green so next time I'll use red lentils. - 7/20/08

Can't wait to try this. Lentils are delicious and SO good for you. Cinnamon helps to lower triglycerides as well. Garlic is good for you too. A great combo meal. - 6/11/08

I adapted it for the stove top. Once the water boiled it took about 30 minutes. Next time, I would add everything but chicken cook 10 minutes then add the chicken (it was a little over done.) Very quick and tasty. - 5/2/08

I did change up a few things. I took out the Cayenne as I don't like the heat from it. I did half and half water and broth. I did use full flavor broth though. I also cooked it over night. I love the way it smelled as it was cooking. And the flavor is amazing!!! It's what's for dinner tonight!!! - 2/11/21

Guess the high calories are due to the lentils. - 12/9/20

Delicious. I cooked it in a pressure cooker to save time and it came out a little thin, like soup. But everyone in the family loved it and went for seconds. I will make this again. - 1/1/16

Excellent! Very tasty, took commenters advice and doubled the spices. I cooked it on high and after about 3.5 hours the chicken was already falling apart and the lentils were soft but not mushy. Thanks! - 3/2/15

This didn't turn out that great. The flavors were off for some reason. I'm not sure if it was the brand of spices I had, or if I messed something up. - 4/6/13

I actually prepared this recipe exactly except I doubled the spice. I didn't like the cinnamon double though. It was too strong. I also had to add fat. I always add butter to my individual bowl. I served this with Brown Rice. - 10/11/12

Delicious! It has a slightly sweet flavor due to the cinnamon but cooked up well. Served it over pearled couscous. Fabulous the day after as leftovers - 3/31/12

Added some leftover peas. Very tasty. - 12/26/11

Worst recipe ever :( a waste of food - cooking lentils for 5 hours on high in a slow cooker, resulted in MUSH! I think this recipe needs tweaking. Maybe less cook time? Was so disappointed :/ - 10/20/11

This was just OK. Needed more seasonings. - 10/3/11
