Moroccan Chicken & Lentils

2 cups chopped carrots (can use baby carrots).1.5 cups dried lentils (any combo-- can use regular lentils, red lentils, etc.)2 lb.s boneless, skinless chicken breast halves.2 TB minced garlic3/4 tsp. salt3/4 tsp. turmeric1/2 tsp ground cayenne1/2 tsp ground cinnamon4 cups of fat free, low salt chicken broth
Place all ingredients in the order listed in slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 5 hours. Or, cover and cook on high for 1 hour, reduce to low and cook 7 more hours.
Serves 6-8. (I calculated for 6 servings, but we serve this without rice. Can serve this w/ pita chips or rice as a side.)

I did change up a few things. I took out the Cayenne as I don't like the heat from it. I did half and half water and broth. I did use full flavor broth though. I also cooked it over night. I love the way it smelled as it was cooking. And the flavor is amazing!!! It's what's for dinner tonight!!! - 2/11/21
