Ingredients
Directions
2 cups (500ml) milk (1%)0.25 cup semolina (gríz)0.125 cup granulated sugar1 tbsp lemon zest0.25 cup raisinsoptional: to sprinkle on top - cocoa powder, cinnamon+sugar powder, jam or anything that takes your fancynote: The amount of the ingredients are guidelines only, some like it sweeter some thicker or thinner etc... This is a basic recipe.
The number of servings based on a kid's portion - I usually use an empty yogurt tub about 6 oz.
The whole lot is 575 kcal altogether without the toppings.
Preparation:
Pour the milk into a pan and measure out the other ingredients
Cooking:
Boil the milk in a pan, lower the heat, pour the semolina, the sugar and the lemon zest in it and stir it continuously till the semolina gets thicker. Then you can decide whether you need more water to thin it or you like it as thick as it is. Put the raisins in and stir it more. You can even turn the heat off, semolina gets thicker on its own (if you let it sit for long it becomes a big block - you can make it runny again by adding water while you heat it up)
Some people like it like this, some sprinkle cocoa powder (nesquick) or cinnamon powder mixed with sugar on top, some add jams etc.
