Ingredients
1 Cup Warm Water2 1/2 Teaspoons Active Dry Yeast3 Tablespoons Flax Seed-ground (optional)2 Tabelspoons Light Brown Sugar2 Tabelspoons Honey2 Tabelspoons Oil (Grapeseed is excellent)1 Tabelspoon Soymilk or Milk1/8 Teaspoon Ginger Powder (just a pinch)1/4 Cup Vital Wheat Gluten (helps with the texture)3/4 Cup Barley Flour (keeps the bread soft)2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour1 1/2 Teaspoons Salt
Directions
Put all ingredients in bread machine as listed. I use the "Light" setting on my Breadman machine.

    Left out ginger and sugar, halved salt. Made dough in machine and baked in oven. Lovely risen loaf, very soft for wholemeal. - 3/26/20

    This is really good bread and, as advertised, stays nice and soft. I've made a regular machine loaf, dinner rolls, and an artisan-style loaf and they've all been great! I have found that I need to add up to 1/4 cup more water than it calls for, but that may be due to dry winter climate. - 12/29/14

    I found this too be an excellent bread especially for those with high blood sugar. Like everything else it has to be eaten in moderation because this is a great bread and you could find yourself over indulging. easy to make and very tasty - 3/7/10
