Slow Cooker Wild Rice Soup

Ingredients
1 medium onion, chopped2 medium stalks celery1/2 cup diced carrots105g or about 4 oz diced polish sausage*1/4 tsp pepper3 1/2 cups chicken broth1 can (12 oz) evaporated fat-free milk1/3 cup all-purpose flour1 cup frozen peas*can substitute the polish sausage for: smoked turkey, chicken, bacon, etc.
Directions
Place onion, celery, carrots, sausage, wild rice, and pepper in a 3 1/2 to 4 quart slow cooker. Pour broth over top.

Cover and cook on low heat setting for 6 to 8 hours or until rice and vegetables are tender. Stir in peas in last 15 minutes of cooking.

Mix milk and flour; stir into soup. Cover and cook about 20 minutes or until thickened.

Makes 6 1-cup servings

    I have not tried yet...But if you look at the breakdown of calories by ingredient you will find that it is 0.08 cup of wild rice??? - 9/22/09
