Carmelized Onions to go with Butternut Squash Soup

Ingredients
3 TBS Butter2 TBS Extra virgin olive oil4 C onions thinly sliced2 tsp sugarSalt and Pepper
Directions
In large skillet melt the butter in olive oil on medium high heat.

Add onions and 1/4 tsp salt and pepper.

Cook stirring constantly, about five minutes

Stir in sugar and cook scraping the browned bits off pan frequently until the onions are golden brown, about 20 minutes.

Makes 6 servings to top soup.
