Ingredients
Directions
About 1 pound of apples, cored and sliced thinly6 tsp. margarine3 tsp. brown sugarGround cinnamon1 packet of Quaker Instant Oatmeal- Weight Control, maple and brown sugar flavor
1. Core 1 pound of apples and slice thinly. I leave the peel on for the extra fiber and nutrients but you may remove it if desired.
2. Arrange the apple slices in a baking dish coated with non-stick spray.
3. Sprinkle with the brown sugar and cinnamon.
4. Top with the instant oatmeal, trying to cover the apples as evenly as possible.
5. Dot the oatmeal with the margarine (try to spread it out over the oatmeal as evenly as possible).
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until the apples are tender and the oatmeal is crunchy.
Note: this is a pretty forgiving crisp. I bake it at the temperature of whatever else I'm cooking in the oven, and bake until the apples are tender.
