Gramma's Bread Pudding

Ingredients
4 cups nonfat milk4 eggsdash of salt (optional - I don't)1 cup sugar4-6 slices stale wheat bread1 tsp vanilla extract1/2 tsp nutmeg (to taste)
Directions
Mix all ingredients except bread until eggs are fully incorporated. Break the stale bread into a 2 qt casserole dish and cover with the liquid mixture. Make sure all the bread gets soaked. Bake at 350 for 75 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

It will deflate as it cools. I cook mine in a rectangular pan and cut it into 10 servings as soon as its cool enough. I package each serving into gladware and it keeps in the fridge for about 10 days. I don't know if it can be frozen.
