Stuffed Cabbage Casserole

Ingredients
1 pound ground beef1 small onion, chopped4 cups chopped cabbage1 medium green pepper, chopped1 cup uncooked instant rice1 cup water1 can tomato paste (6 oz.)1 can diced tomato3es, imndrained (14 1/2 0z.)1/2 cup ketchup2 tbsp. vinegar1 to 2 tbsp. sugar, optional1 tbs. Worcestershire sauce1 1/2 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. pepper1/4 garlic powder
Directions
In a skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Transfer to a slow cooker; add cabbage, green pepper and rice. In a bowl, combine the water and tomato paste. Shir in the remaining ingredients. Pour over beef mixture; mix well. Cover and cook in crockpot on low for 4-5 hours until rice and vegetables are tender. Yield: 4-6 servings

    I loved this meal. However, I substituted the lean ground beef with lean ground turkey. It did not make any difference with the taste. I also used savoy cabbage instead of regular cabbage.
    If you like stuffed cabbage and do not want the work, this is the recipe to make. Great for pot luck mea - 5/31/11
