Easy Turkey Chili

2 cans of low sodium tomato sauce2 cans of low sodium diced tomatoes1 can of kidney beans2 tbs olive oil2 tsp minced onion2 tsp garlic salt4 tbs chili powder4 tsp hot sauce1 onion, minced1 clove of garlic, minced1 lb ground turkey (93% fat free)
Brown garlic and onion in oil in the same large pot that you'll use for the entire recipe (needs to hold about 12 cups, at least). Once the onion and garlic start to brown, add ground turkey, seasoned with minced onion, 1 tablespoon of chili powder and garlic salt. Brown turkey until no longer pink. Drain a can of kidney beans and add to the pot. Then add diced tomatoes, without draining. Add half of the remaining chili powder. Simmer for 10 mins. Add 2 cans of low sodium tomato sauce, the rest of the chili powder and the hot sauce. Add one cup of water. Simmer down to half (2 hours). Add another cup of water (or 2) and simmer down to half again.
Makes 12 one cup servings (roughly). The longer this chili is simmered, the better it is.
