3/4 cup steel-cut or old-fashioned oats1 1/2 cups water1 cup chopped peeled apples1/4 cup sliced almonds1/4 tsp ground cinnamon1/8 tsp nutmeg

combine all ingredients in 4(ish) quart slow cooker. Cover, cook on low 8 hours. Makes 3 servings (double everything to get the original 6 serving version
