Cranberry Apple Stuffing

Ingredients
6 cups Bread cubes toasted1 cup diced Onion1 cup thinly sliced Celery (if you like smaller pieces dice)1 cup diced apple (Honey Crisp is the best)1/4 cup Crasins (Raisins work just as well) Turkey Stock (that the drippings from the turkey set aside, or in the refrigerator, and allow to cool, and skim the fat from the top and discard)1/2 tsp Pepper, black1/2 tsp Salt 1 tbsp Poultry seasoning1 tsp Garlic powder 1 tsp Sage, ground
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a sauce pan large enough to hold all ingredients and mix, put 1/2 cup of Turkey stock, add spices, onion, celery and apples. Saute until onion clear and celery and apple tender add raisins and 1/2 cup more Turkey stock. Add bread cubes a little at a time until all vegetables are mixed in. Add more Turkey stock until bread cube are evenly coated and mixed with vegetables. Place pan in the oven for 15 minutes.

    This stuffing was amazing. I made this the day before Thanksgiving and covered it in the refrigerator. I put an even coat of broth over it before I put it in the oven. I put both apple crisps chips and a granny smith for a strong apple flavor. - 12/20/10

    I really liked this dish. I ended up adding about 1/4 cup stock when it says to evenly coat the bread crumbs. I like a "mushier" stuffing, so I will add more stock next time. I'd never made homemade stuffing before and this was delicious and easy. I'll make it again for sure! - 1/6/10
