Betty Crocker Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
cookies:1.5 cup powdered sugar1 cup butter1 tsp vanilla1/2 tsp almond extract1 egg2 1/2 cup flour1 tsp baking soda1 tsp cream of tartargranulated sugar (to sprinkle on top)\icing:1/3 cup egg whites1/2 tsp vanilla1/4 tsp cream of tartar4 cups powdered sugar
Directions
mix powdered ugar, butter vanilla, egg and almond extract in large bowl then stir in remaining ingredients. refrigerate 2-24 hours
heat oven to 375* lightly grease cookie sheet. split dough in half and roll on floured surface 1/4 inch thick, cut out shapes.
bake 7-8 mins

for icing:

at low spped blend egg whites, vanilla, cream of tartar until frothy. Gradually add sugar and beat at medium speed until thick, 4-6 mins. Tint with food coloring is desired.
