biscuits and vegetarian sausage gravy

1 can flaky biscuit dough1 tbsp canola oil1/2 (14 oz) meatless sausage1/4 c all purpose flour3 cups fat free milk1/2 tsp falst1/4 tsp pepper
1. Prepare biscuits according to package directions.
2. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over med-high heat. Add sausage; cook 3 minutesor until browned, stiring to crumble. Remove from heat; cool slightly. Crumble sausage into 1/2 inch ieces; return to pan.
3. Lightly spoon flour into a dry measuring cup; level with a knife. Combine flour and milk, stirring with a whisk until smooth. Add milk mixture, salt, and black pepper to pan; bring to a boil over med-high heat. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 3 min or until thick. Split the biscuits in half. Place 2 biscuit halves on each of 8 plates; top each serving with about 1/2 cup gravy, serve immediately.
