simple braised lamb shanks and white beans

Ingredients
2 lamb shanks 16oz1 medium onion6 cloves garlic1t salt1t fresh ground black pepper1c dry white beans4 c boiling water (or to cover)
Directions
Put the shanks in a low sided heavy baking pan (le creuset)
Dump the onion coarsely chopped
and the garlic peeled and halved length wise
on top of the shanks.
Sprinkle with the salt and pepper.

Bake in a 375 oven until browned

Put in crock of slow cooker, add water and beans.

Cook on high until simmering then turn to low.

Until beans are tender.
