Makes 12 large or 24 small.....Nutritional facts are for the large size.
The dough can be made in a bread machine or with your mixer using a dough hook.
1. Place dough ingredients into bowl or bread machine container in the order they are given.
2. If using a bread machine, set to the dough cycle.
3. If using a mixer, add ingredients to the bowl in the order they are given and mix well and then knead with the dough hook for approx. 5 minutes. ( I find that I sometimes need to add a bit more water at this stage.) The dough should be moist but not too sticky!
4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.(it should double in size)
5. Roll out dough on a floured surface in a rectangle about 15x24". It will be thin. Spread the 1/4 cup margarine right to the edges of dough. Combine 1/4 cup white sugar and 1.5 tsp cinnamon and sprinkle over the buttered dough.
6. Roll the dough starting at the long edge so that you are left with a 24" roll.
7.Cut the roll in half, and each half in half again.....then cut each piece into 3. This will make 12 buns.( If you would like to make smaller buns, cut each piece in 1/2 again.)
8. Place each of the 12 pieces in a buttered 9X13 pan. Cover with plastic wrap and put in the oven with the light on for about 45 min. to rise again.
When the rising is done, remove the buns from the oven, remove plastic wrap and preheat to 375*. Bake for 25 minutes.
9. While buns are baking, combine th topping ingredients. When buns are done, let cool for 5 minutes and pour topping over them. Serve warm!
Enjoy
