1/4 oz (1 package) dry yeast1 1/2 cups warm water1 tsp salt1 tbsp sugar4 cups white flour1 egg beatenCoarse salt
Preheat oven to 425. In a large metal bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add salt, sugar, and flour. Knead until smooth. Very sticky!!
Cut dough into small pieces approx. 1" in diameter. Put small amount of flour on a plate, roll the cut dough into the flour to keep from sticking. Roll into long skinny strips and then twist into pretzel shapes. Place pretzel dough onto greased cookie sheet. Brush the beaten egg over the dough and sprinkle with coarse salt (go light!).
Bake approx. min, turn to temp to broil for 5 min or until golden brown.
