Vegetarian 15 Bean Slow Cooker Chili

Ingredients
1 package (20 oz) 15-bean soup mix1/3 cup picante sauce2.5 tsp salt1/2 tsp pepper1 tbsp garlic powder1 tbsp garlic, minced1/2 tbsp chili powder1/2 tsp cumin1/2 tsp oregano3 bay leaves
Directions
Makes 16 servings (1/2 cup each).

1) Soak beans overnight in crockpot.
2) Drain and add fresh water (enough to cover beans plus a couple of inches).
3) Add all ingredients EXCEPT picante sauce
4) Cook on high 7-8 hours
5) About 30 minutes before serving, add picante sauce.

Note: This gets better and better the longer it cooks. I sometimes leave it on low for up to 24 hours.

    This was pretty good, although it was a little salty, and I had to add a lot of extra chili powder to make it taste like chili. I couldn't taste the picante. A good base recipe for experimenting with though. - 3/8/10
