Spicy Red Lentil Soup

Ingredients
Ingredients:Olive Oil, 2 1tsp Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia) choppedGinger Root, 1 tablespoon mincedpinch of fennel seedspnch of cumin seeds1/4 tsp red pepper flakesGarlic, 1 clove mincedLentils, 1 cup rinced and picked over*Swanson Natural Goodness Chicken Broth, 5 cup
Directions
heat up oil add onion, ginger root, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, red pepper flakes and garlic. Cook till onion begins to soften (about 2 minutes). Add lentils and chicken broth and bring to a boil and then lower to medium low and simmer for 45 minutes. Use immersion blender to smooth.

Don't make my rookie mistake... 1 cup is about half a bag. 1 bag of lentils is 2 cups.
