Slow cooker lentil soup

Half a 19 oz can of Bella Tavola Lentils.One 28 fl oz /796 ml can of Italpasta diced tomatoes , no salt added1 small onion - chopped.1 carton ( 900 ml) Campbell's chicken Broth , less 25 % sodium1 teaspoon ground cumin (optional) 1 teaspoon dried italian herbs ( oregano , basil etc)
Rinse lentil thoroughly under running water, put them in a blender with some water and puree them until smooth, add them to slow cooker, puree one small chopped onion and add to slow cooker, then
add chicken broth and puree the diced tomatoes too before adding them
add spices and herbs ,and put the lid on and turn on your slow cooker,
TRY TO NOT EAT IT BEFORE it's ready, it will smell delicious.
1 cup per serving ...makes approx 9 cups of soup.
Serve with a squirt of Lemon juice in it just before serving,
I serve mine with whole wheat Beer bread! It is also a great soup to take in a flask with you if you are on the go!
Note: you MAY add some rice in with it if you want to ,but I don't .
