Keely's Buttermilk Bread

Ingredients
1 1/2 c. Buttermilk1/2 c. Butter1/2 c. Water1/2 c. White sugar1.2 tsp. Baking soda2 pkg. active dry yeast2 tsp. salt3 c. White flour2 1/2 c. Wheat flour
Directions
Dissolve yeast in warm water that is 110 degrees and set aside.

Place the butter or margarine in small saucepan with buttermilk and heat slowly until butter is melted. Cool to lukewarm.

Place sugar, salt, baking soda, buttermilk mixture, and yeast mixture in large mixing bowl.

Add 3 cups flour, stir well, then add 2 1/2 cups flour and stir until not sticky.

Turn out onto clean lightly floured surface and knead for several minutes untilt he dough is soft and smooth.

Place in greased bowl and turn once. Allow to rise for 1 1/2 hours or until double in size.

Punch the dough down gently and prepare as desired, can bake as 2 loaves or can make into equal balls (about 3 inch size) and place in greased 9x13 for dinner rolls. Baking time depends on how prepared, but as dinner rolls bake for 30 minutes. As butterhorns- 13-14, as loaf- 40-45.
