Potato Broccoli Soup

Ingredients
Broccoli - about 1kgpotatoes - about the same2 - 900mL chicken broth1 medium onionabout 1L of water depending on how thin or thick you like your soupsalt and pepper to taste
Directions
Bring water and broth to boil in a soup pot. Add peeled and diced potatoes and broccoli. You can use the whole broccoli, florets and stems. Simmer until potatoes and broccoli are tender. Remove from heat puree. I use a hand blender in the pot but you can put it in a blender too.
Top each bowl with shredded cheese if desired.
