Colourful Rice

Ingredients
1 cup uncooked brown rice1/2 cup green split peas1/2 cup yellow split peas (or red lentils)4 cups waterHalf of the rice can be exchanged with barley, or if you want more rice and less peas, you can play around with the amounts. Just make sure that the total amount of dry ingredients comes to 2 cups!
Directions
Add all the ingredients to a medium to large-sized pot, and turn on high heat to boil. Once boiling, turn down to medium-low heat, and cover, about 45 minutes. Keep checking it, and don't stir.

Makes 8 1/2 cup servings.
