Judith's Mussels Marinara

5 Dozen fresh mussels1/2 cup white wine1/8 cup olive oil4 cloves garlic1/4 cup fresh parsley1/4 cup onion2 (28) canned Italian-Style Tomatoes canned2 teaspoon oregeno3 bay leavessalt and pepper to taste1 pound whole wheat pastaFreshly grated parmesan cheese
Scrub mussels well under cold water, remove beards. Place mussels in pot with wine. Cover and cook over high heat 4 to 5 minutes or until mussels have opened. Remove from pot, reserve liquid and mussels. In pot sautee the olive oil, onions and garlic until soft. Add tomatoes, oregeno, parsley, bay leaf, pepper and liquid from cooked mussels. Cook for 25 minutes. Cook Pasta.
Add shelled mussels to sauce. Leave (10) unshelled mussels for topping your pasta plates. Place cooked spagetti in Pasta Bowl or plate top with sauce and cheese and unshelled mussels. Serve
