We made this exactly as written but for one tiny change. Due to a bumper crop of cherry tomatoes in our garden we added them to the skewers as well. We wrapped each tomato in a basil leaf before threading it onto the skewer. - 6/2/08

We put this marinade on yellow squash, zucchini, onions and mushrooms and roasted them in the oven and we really liked it! It made enough marinade to coat a 9x13 pan of veggies. - 8/31/09

Soak the skewers in water before adding the veggies and the ends won't burn on the grill as much. Threading the veggies first and then marinating will make it easier than fumbling with slippery veggies. My family loves adding bell peppers to this mix! - 5/13/10

I marinade this in a lock & lock container so I can turn it over every 15 min. and I used a lot more different veggies. I even got the grandkids involved and they actually enjoyed eating veggies this way!! - 8/14/09

Red Bell pepper, cherry or grape tomotoes, cauliflower and/or broccoli, the little tiny corn cobs, snap peas, green beans ... all ideas of other veggies to add - 8/14/09

Yum!! My husband loved it too! I didn't have fresh basil so just used it from my spice rack and i didn't use minced garlic, just a dash of garlic powder and it was still great!! - 6/23/08

Delicious. You can also grill these in a barbque basket rather than putting them on the skewers, - 8/31/09

I like the idea of the mustard. Also, since BBQ season is over, I will try that marinade, with the mustard, and roast the vegetables. - 12/9/08

Yummers! Nice flavor but I'm thinking next time I will lose the vinegar and just go with red wine? Would it matter much? Either way, I just love when healthy food is tasty! - 8/17/07

Oh my gosh, this is phenomenal! We didn't have the zucchini, so subbed in small red, yellow, and orange bell peppers. We also marinated and added chunks of white fish for extra protein. Yum! Yum! - 6/17/10

Been making this for years....like to add boiled potatoes and sweet potatoes to the mixture along with other veggies people have already mentioned. Serve over bed of urugula or spinach, sprinkled with walnuts and craisins. Yum! - 5/3/10
