Whole Wheat Cornmeal Waffles

Ingredients
1-1/4 cups whole wheat flour3/4 cup cornmeal2 tablespoons sugar1 tablespoon baking powder1/2 teaspoon salt1-3/4 cups nonfat milk6 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce2 large egg whites
Directions
1. Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and combine until well blended and smooth. Let bater sit 5 minutes before using.

2. Preheat waffle maker.

3. Pour 1/2 cup batter onto the center of the waffle maker. When waffle is ready remove and serve immediately.

4. Repeat until batter is gone. Waffles can be cooled completely and then frozen.
