Slow-Simmered Meat Sauce for Spaghetti

1 lb lean ground beef1/2 lb lean Italian pork sausage1 medium onion chopped (1/2 cup)1 sweet red pepper chopped (1 cup)2 (28 oz) cans crushed tomatoes2 cups Catelli Garden Select pasta sauce (onion and garlic)1 Tbsp brown sugar1 Tbsp dried Italian seasoning1/4 teaspoon pepper
Cook ground beef and sausage in a frying pan until thoroughly cooked. Drain and add to slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients and simmer covered on Low for 8-10 hours.
Serve over cooked spaghetti
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired.
