Basmati Rice ; 1/4 cupMilk 2% ; 3.5 cupsGreen cardamom ground ; 1 tspSaffron strands ; 1/2 tspSplenda ; 1 cup or to tastePistachio nuts ; 1/2 tbls
In a small cup put one tbls hot water and add the saffron to it keep aside. Soak rice overnight or at least 4 hrs, make a paste of the rice with a little water in a blender. In a heavy bottomed pan add milk, the paste and stir continuously on med flame till it starts to thicken and looks creamy, let it boil still stirring all the time, take it off the heat, add cardamom powder and splenda, pour into a bowl or individual cups. Garnish with the sliced Pistachios and Saffron. Enjoy
