Whole Wheat Waffles

3 egg whites1-1/2 cups whole wheat flour 1/2 cup all purpose white flour 2 cups low-fat buttermilk 1 tbsp sugar3 tbsp vegetable oil2 teaspoons baking powder1/4 teaspoon salt
1. Heat waffle maker. If necessary, brush with vegetable oil before batter for each waffle is added (or spray before heating). In medium bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Beat in remaining ingredients just until smooth.
2. Pour about 1/2 cup of batter onto each side of belgian waffle maker (or onto center of waffle standard waffle maker). Close lid of waffle maker.
3. Bake about 5 minutes or until steaming stops. Carefully remove waffle. Repeat with remaining batter.
Makes 7 waffles (1/2 cup of batter makes 1 waffle).
